Introduction
CredAssist (Pty) Ltd is a private company focussing primarily on the origination of short-term finance for the clients of the entire legal profession. At some stage most people will statistically come into contact with an attorney, whether it is for a divorce, criminal case, civil case, labour case or any other form of legal work.
We realise that a great number of these potential clients are not in a financial position to ensure that the attorney is fully covered for the work he or she has to do, and in some cases the attorney has to be satisfied with some or other payment arrangement from the client, or promises of payment.
We believe the attorney should be able to focus his or her attention to the actual legal matter at hand and not be overly concerned with the overheads of his or her practice.
It is with this in mind that CredAssist has negotiated a number of agreements with various financial institutions, including one of the four major South African Banks, as well as a number of registered brokers or intermediaries. These agreements ensure that the application process is made simple and quick.
At the same time CredAssist is committed to ensuring that the legal profession becomes more accessible to the general public. We understand the pressures of suddenly being confronted with a legal matter and not being able to pay a large upfront deposit that may be required by an attorney. Through our product, the client is given the opportunity to borrow money and repay it over a specified period of time.
